Love is in the Air!

You don’t have to break the bank to bring a smile to your lovers face. I have put together a list of GREAT and super fun date ideas. Me and my BF are constantly trying to come up with new ideas to hang out and have a great time together that doesn’t involve spending tons of money. Some of these ideas are fun, romantic and/or creative. These Date Ideas range from free to under $10. Hopefully you and your significant other can pick at least one of these ideas and have the most perfect Date ever!

 1. Picnic

Picnics are great. You may find this to be over-rated, but I don’t! I am a sucker for my BF putting time and thought into a date. Picnics can be made with food from home, our take out. Our latest picnic involved cheese, crackers, and a bottle of wine.(Don’t Forget your Wine Opener)

2. Read a poem

I love this as a Date idea. Me and my BF recently went kayaking early in the morning. As the birds were chirping and the cold fog was clearing up, my BF read the Road Less Traveled to me. It was seriously like a scene out of the Notebook movie. An Anniversary or Date night is a great opportunity for you and your special someone to write each other poems/letters and spend quality time reading them out loud to each other. This will make your home-made letter mean that much more to each other.

3. Visit the Art Museum

If you live in California then the Ghetty Museum is the one to visit. On Our first Valentine’s Day date we visited the Museum and brought canvas and paints. We sat out side in the courtyard and painted each other beautiful acrylic paintings. Not only was it super romantic, but it was so much fun! Another plus, is that we have gifts from that day and they didn’t cost us anything. Art can bring romance and bring you closer to someone. A local art museum is perfect for that. If Art isn’t your thing, there are always different types of museums. If you are close to San Diego, Balboa Park has a great selection of different types of museums. Museums aren’t for everyone, but they can be really great and start good conversation. This is a great way to get to know someone better, or connect more with someone you already know well.

I love Bike Rides. This is a great Date Idea for the person who isn’t into the typical dinner and a movie type date. Get your speaker out, turn on the tunes and just cruise! You can find cool things to look out for while you are on your bike ride, or you can take them somewhere special. Whatever you decide, you can’t go wrong with a ride through your local town. Check out this post to see what we did on our double-date.

5. Attend Local Farmers Market

This is one of my FAVORITE things to do with my BF. We have the best memories from visiting our local farmers markets as well as visiting ones while we are on vacation. It can be so fun just walking up and down the street. You think Costco has samples? Go to the Farmers Market theeeeyyyy have samples. You can choose to buy each other gifts or you can choose to go the free route and just “window shop”. If you love flowers like I do, this is a great opportunity for you or your special someone to buy local flowers. Not only are they beautiful, but they are less expensive too! This is a top date idea!

6. Visit Yard Sales

Yard Sale shopping is so fun if you do it right! Turn up the music and go look for local yard sales. It’s a great way to spend quality time together and get talking. You both can go and buy fun random things or you can also find great deals on things you actually want! This is a unique way to make the shopper in your life super happy! Click here to see how to get the best out of your yard sale trip.

7.Game night

When it comes to games, me and my BF are very competitive. We love challenging each other and tease each other about who is “better” than the other. (I am of course) With that being said, we love games! Usually this means we are playing his Playstation 4. This is a great option for the Video Gamer out there! (If you don’t like video games, but your partner does, make a compromise and offer to play with them for an hour or two in exchange for something you want to do…it will make them so happy) Game night doesn’t have to be just video games. Card games, board games, and trivia games are great too! There are a lot of games out there surrounding love and relationships. These games can be romantic, silly, sexy, and/or fun. I personally love the fun trivia games. It’s a great way for us to get to know each other better, or refresh our memories about our likes and dislikes. *A tip for making the game night more romantic is setting up some rules! For example, who ever looses has to give the other person a back massage. Good luck!
